Wool Appliques by Elizabeth Angus

I forgot to mention that I met Elizabeth Angus and I bought her book "Cozy Wool Applique Pillows". I saw the pillows made up at her booth and I thought "Oh my goodness, I love them all". So I am working on my first one, but I am making 2 of them.

I am making the one with the pumpkin background with the sheep on it.  Lucky for me I have some wool.  I am using Valdani floss.  Now I rug hook for awhile and then I applique.  I have to tell you, it has been a while since I found a book that I liked every single pattern in it.  Usually I only like a couple.  If you want to see more gotta have appliques go to:

We saw a castle on the way to the show, so we had to stop and take a picture.  I didn't know that there was a castle in Kuna.

We had a lot of fun and there were a lot of great vendors.  The were a lot quilts and they were beautiful.  Here are some pictures of my booth.

We went to the Colorado Rug & Fiber Guild. It was a lot of fun and there were a lot of beautiful rugs. So many talented women. I forgot to take pictures of my tables of wool. But I did take pictures of the Colorado Rug and Fiber Guild's - Education Fund Rug Raffle. I bought the patterns and I can't wait to make them. The pictures are below. You find more information in the June/July 2012 ATHA Newsletter, Issue #195.

Cute Pumpkins!

A nice fluffy snowman.

Sorry I can't turn this around.

I am going to have to learn to turn it around.

My Father Christmas placed third place in the Seasonal category at the Colorado Rug & Fiber Guild.

Spring Flowers

I thought that the flowers in my yard looked so pretty this year so I took some pictures.  I am trying to get caught up on my posts and I have some time today so I am going to add some things.

Utah Rug and Fiber Guild's September Hook In

Yesterday we had the Utah Rug and Fiber Guild Hook In.  We had a great demonstration on finishing your rug with a crocheted edge (courtesy of Sharon and Jeanette).  Thanks so much for doing that.  Londi gave an interesting lecture about pinterest, public domain, and copy right.  Thanks Londi for sharing your knowledge with the guild.  I know that the painting guilds are wanting to have you come and share your knowledge with them.  There were some beautiful rugs that were completed and in progress.  I saw a few that I would like to hook like Sandy's witch.  In a few days go to for some great pictures.  Thanks to everyone for their hard work and help.  We could not have such a nice meeting if it was not for the volunteers.  It great seeing everyone!  Happy Rug Hooking!
