Wool Appliques by Elizabeth Angus

I forgot to mention that I met Elizabeth Angus and I bought her book "Cozy Wool Applique Pillows". I saw the pillows made up at her booth and I thought "Oh my goodness, I love them all". So I am working on my first one, but I am making 2 of them.

I am making the one with the pumpkin background with the sheep on it.  Lucky for me I have some wool.  I am using Valdani floss.  Now I rug hook for awhile and then I applique.  I have to tell you, it has been a while since I found a book that I liked every single pattern in it.  Usually I only like a couple.  If you want to see more gotta have appliques go to:  http://sunflowerfieldspatternco.blogspot.com/.

Utah Rug and Fiber Guild's September Hook In

Yesterday we had the Utah Rug and Fiber Guild Hook In.  We had a great demonstration on finishing your rug with a crocheted edge (courtesy of Sharon and Jeanette).  Thanks so much for doing that.  Londi gave an interesting lecture about pinterest, public domain, and copy right.  Thanks Londi for sharing your knowledge with the guild.  I know that the painting guilds are wanting to have you come and share your knowledge with them.  There were some beautiful rugs that were completed and in progress.  I saw a few that I would like to hook like Sandy's witch.  In a few days go to http://utahrugandfiberguild.blogspot.com/ for some great pictures.  Thanks to everyone for their hard work and help.  We could not have such a nice meeting if it was not for the volunteers.  It great seeing everyone!  Happy Rug Hooking!
